Congas

These stylized congas were created as a game-ready prop for Proxi, an unshipped title from Gallium Studios. The goal was to produce an instrument that reads instantly in a game environment while maintaining enough surface detail to hold up in closer views.

The asset was originally developed using an RGB-over-albedo workflow, allowing hand-painted graphic marks to remain visible while keeping the wood and hide colors easily adjustable. For Sketchfab display, only the albedo was converted to standard color textures, preserving the original stylized look and material balance. Metal and plastic components were kept simple and readable through the albedo, with curvature used to subtly emphasize edges and form.

Line work and surface accents were created using path-based tools in Adobe Substance Painter, providing smooth, clean lines and precise control over thickness. This approach supported both the stylized art direction and the performance needs of a real-time game environment.
